| I'm looking at a deal on a usp compact, but I'm left handed and need to switch this pistol from a right only variant. hk website is no help. is it possible to get the parts, or is it necessary to ship the gun off? thanks. |

I'm looking to do just the opposite. I've owned a variant 2 for years and I am right handed. I have seen an ambi control lever kit on midways site, but didn't know if it was for a variant 1 or variant 2 or if it even mattered. Hopefully someone will chime in that has done this before. Here is the part

Got the same problem except I am right handed and got a great deal on a left handed USP40 Tactical for $599.
I post this thread today asking the same question. Changing USP variant Go to www.hkparts.net Order the correct detent plate and lever. That's all you need. I check my USP tonight and it looks simple to do. USP Brain surgery next week. Crossing my fingers. |

Here is the part http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=964054 The ambi kit is for both left and right handed shooters, hence the word ambi (ambidextrous). The only difference between a V1 and a V2 is the side the control lever is on, so with the ambi, you have a control lever on both sides, hence, no difference if the gun starts out as a V1 or a V2. Detent plates are the same for a V1 and V2 so don't wast your money buying another plate when the one you have is the same as the one you would get (they even say V1,2 on them). |
