A friend of mine asked me for some help determining the value of an unfired 1970's era Combat Commander in Stainless.

I looked up the blue book value , not sure if correctly, and it was about $850 at 100%.

Does that sound reasonable, or is the market better or worse?

Thanks,

Todd

Ift ruly unfired with box and papers and in 100% condition, thats probably pretty close, - papers or box, drop it $50-$100.00, he might be able to sell it for $850 but it might take some time and some from this era wre not built the best. Some were built well, others................not so much.

Don't believe there were any SS pre-80 Series Combat Commanders.  Either satin nickle which was the production finish, or electroless nickle which was a premium finish offered by Colt's custom shop. The satin nickle is fine, but very fragile.

If it's satin nickel unfired w box and papers it's a very good deal. If it's SS then $8.500 is a very good deal seeing how that would be a nonexistant one-of-a-kind prototype. No box, no papers and it's market value.
