Hi, any idea how long it takes to get a SAA from them?   Nothing over fancy, but wondering about timeline?  thanks....

Depends on many factors:
What model of gun.
What do you want done to it.
Their work load.  (Which given the current conditions in the gun business and the number of older Colt's being sent in for refinishing and work, is high).

Bottom line is even Colt can't give a really reliable estimate.  They might give an estimate, but by the time you get it ordered and they get the order and put it in the cue, the situation will have changed.
You just have to order the gun and sit back and wait.  They'll give you an estimated time after they actually get the order, but even that changes due to work load and other factors like personnel availability.

A good friend of mine met a shooter  who had some work done on his Colt Python a year ago. It took 4 months for an estimate and 7 months to work on his Python.

I spoke with the custom shop about a SAA a couple of months ago. They told me 9 months.

There are some dealers online sellling new 3rd gen SAA for reasonable prices. I would explore that avenue first.
