Years ago, I borrowed a .38Super Commander with a 9mm barrel from a friend. My wife shot it, fell in love with it, and ever since I have been offering everything short of my soul to the guy to buy that pistol from him, with no luck. In the mean time, my gun-ambivalent wife periodically bugs me about finding her a 9mm 1911.
Fast forward to now, and I just finished the Colt M4 armorer's course. One of the perks is a chance to buy a limited selection of Colts at a stupid good discount. I'm good on AR's for now, so I was browsing the pistol list and the 9mm Defender jumped out at me. Anyone have one? Thoughts, particularly in terms of as my wife's range/house pistol? |
| I've got one and no complaints here. Very pleasant (and comparatively) inexpensive to shoot. I don't understand why Colt chose to put those nasty big fat rubber grips on them, but that is easily corrected and I disliked the grips so much I threw them away. Otherwise, a very fine Colt product. |
