Who has the new Walther PPS in 9mm?  Opinions please.

I've had one for about 6 mos. now and it's a great pistol. Accurate and reliable.

So far I've put about 500 rds of assorted fmj and jhp's  thru it without a hiccup.

It's the perfect size for concealed carry too. I love it.

+P is not a problem for the PPS.

If you have questions IM me.

Got one of the early "First Edition" models.  Not real excited about the "carbon fiber" look, but it did come with three magazines.  It has been a reliable and very handy little pistol and I have no problems mowing down plates at 25 yards as fast as I can.  I have had Walthers of various kinds for a while so I was used to the distinctive magazine release arrangement, which I think is pretty clever.

The best part is, of course, the thinness of the pistol.  I have owned plenty of pistols in the past that I really liked but couldn't carry around, like the Glock 26.  The PPS is great in this respect and almost feels like a 26 sawed in half lengthwise.  Holster makers are finally getting up to speed on this pistol and a lot of good holsters are finally appearing for it.  I think the PPS is a terrific design from an often-overlooked innovator in the firearms industry.

Edited to add that +P ammunition is quite controllable and comfortable to shoot, although you might not think so to look at this pistol.

I have one and like everything except for the terrible trigger.

I have a 9mm AS. Best gun I've ever owned in every way. Have had USP/USPc, 92fs, sigs, glocks, and the list goes on...If you didn't like the P99 trigger chances are you either shot a QA or just didn't get used to how it works. Her design is ahead of its time.

the ONLY thing that's a little unnerving is that the polymer slide rails are the smallest i've ever seen. (sigs have the beefiest) has anyone heard of slide rail failure being an issue on handguns?

Aren't the slide rails more for guiding the slide back and forth and less about keeping it out of your forehead?

I would be more concerned with the recoil spring and whatever is the slide stop is made out of than the rails.

I don't know if I can reply ... I have two 9mm PPS's ... does that count?

Great little gun.  I carry with Federal HST 124 +p.  Very controlable and it seems to feed everything I have thrown at it.  I have shot Remington, Federal, Winchester,  Blazer Brass, Hornaday and I have never had a feeding or ejection problem.  My wife had a ejection problem once, but I believe and she admits, she probably limp wristed the gun and caused the failure.  The only problem I keep reading is people saying there is a possibility of the slide locking back on some of the earlier models.  I have two different batches of serial numbers a 14xx and a 49xx and I haven't had a problem with either gun.

The only real problem I have found is there is little aftermarket support in the form of night sights and holsters (but as another poster said, manufactures are picking up on the PPS for holsters).  I would love a set of big dots on my PPS's, but everytime I contact them all I get is "6 months" and that was well over a year ago.

I have one and carry it in a Cross Breed Super Tuck. Never know it's there.

I have one.  It's my primary carry.  Normally I use a Crossbreed supertuck.  The PPS handles well.  I tried the armalaser RSS on it but had some issues with the armalaser turning off unexpectedly.  I've fired quite a few brands of ammo through it.  Including reloads and I haven't a problem.  I'm glad I bought it.

After shooting mine I immediately sold my jframe.  Love this little gun, shoots as easy as a full-sized.

I have one had a couple a couple of FTFeed's when new (with deep scratches in the spent cases) seems to have remedied itself though. Nice gun but would prefer my HK.

Was considering one till I went to the Walther site and see it only comes with one mag––-BIG MISTAKE––-the gun is already more than a Glock by $100 and you want to charge a high price for a spare mag thats hard to find? Sorry––-thats a deal breaker for me.
