Ive had 3 p22s. I've always shot cci and never had a problem. All have had over 2,000rnds through them.. Got rid of them them, then pick up a new one in the middle of 08 at Gander Mountain.. It has always shot cci fine at over a round count of 3,000 on this one. I decided to try some different ammo. I picked up some Federal bulk from walmart and all I have is problems with ftf. I've tried 3 different mags. all the same. would a stiffer spring work (if they make one) or any feed rap mod..

My P22 has had similar problems, I don't think it so much to do with the mag or feed ramp or any of that. I think it has more to do with the fact that the bulk backs don't usually pack as much punch as the CCI.
I like you have never had an issue with the CCI but have had numerous problems with the bulk packs. I would suggest trying a couple of the different brands of bulk packs I know there is one that seemed to work better than the others but I can't remember what brand off the top of my head. |
I think you've spoiled it with the CCI ammo, and now it's rebelling. 
I don't have any (well, many . . .) problems with the Federal bulk ammo with my P22, but I've read that others do. I've seen Remington Golden Bullets recommended for bulk ammo, since they supposedly have a little more "bang." Personally, I had a lot of problems with RGBs but I suspect that I might have gotten a bad batch. Give the RGBs a try. |

P35FAN, that's my thought.
My first P22 was black and green. It ran CCI's just great, but the Fed Bulk boxes, were hit or miss. My current one is Nickle and black. I think the lubrication properties of the Nickle plate, seems to decrease the friction, to a level that makes them run like a champ. This may influence my color schemes on future purchases of other handgun types... John |
