So I was shooting my P22 today and noticed something not quite right with the barrel.  On the muzzle end of the barrel it looks like some of the barrel was "chipped" away.  I stopped shooting and came home to clean the gun.   My first past through to clean the barrel I pushed out a decent sized piece of medal, with no real force! (About 3/8 long by about 1/8 wide)  I looked down the barrel and could see that the piece came off the barrel about 1/2 inch in from the muzzle end about 1/3 of the way around the barrel.  I tried to take pictures to post but I have a crappy camera and and can't get a good one to post.

I bought the gun about 1month ago and only have about 500 rounds through it.  Has anyone had this problem before?  Is this something the manufacturer will take care of?

Both of mine have worked great, with the exception of a few of the sub-sonic rounds not ejecting/loading.

my guess is it's lead shaving built up from rough rifleing.

Well mine has been sent back for repairs for 4 weeks now. maybe they are using it for a dam paperweight. That is all its worth. as soon as I get it back i'm trading it in...

Noob mistake

After the last few posts I got to thinking and went back and made a few more passes of the brush.  I pushed out some more metal and cleared up the spot I thought looked bad.  I guess I had just never seen that much build up before, first time handgun owner mistake.

Another question.  I have a bore snake for my AR, it says it's good for .22 and .223 calibers rifles....is it ok to run this through my handgun as well?

Thanks for all the replies.

boresnake won't hurt it although it's really not needed.

they tend to get REALLY jammed up if your not careful.
