I keep watching 007 and the P99 has this cool CDI factor, but I don't see it anywhere very often: you're always seeing sigs, glocks, 1911's galor but you don't see P99s.  Why? Is there something undesirable about them? I'm just a little confused, if somebody could help me figure this out it would be great! Thanks!

I'll take a shot at it:

1. They cost a bit more than Glocks.  The magazines generally cost more as well.

2. S&W is the primary distributor in the US, and makes the US version in .45ACP (and US versions in 9MM and .40S&W also, IIRC).  Not that there is a conflict here, but they also make other guns that directly impact the P99 market also..

3. The mag release throws some people off.

4. The different trigger options confuse some people.

5. It's a polymer-framed gun.  If 1 - 4 doesn't queer the deal, this might.

If you can get past all the above, they're good (and largely under-rated) guns.

Love mine.  Shoot it regularly.  Fun to shoot.  Have had it for about 5 years and have not had any problems.  I used it to qualify for my CHL.

My German-made P99, will shoot a two inch group, benched, at 25 yards with 126 grain cast bullets, Red Dot powder, Winchester primer and NO leading.  In fact, it has never had a jacketed bullet through it yet.

Love my P99 .40 cal.

Shot the other day and first set of 11 rounds measured 4.9" at 25 yards off hand.
Been shooting some S&B 180grain rounds out of it and she likes them!!!

Working on my technique!

Next set of 11 rounds was just over 5" at 25 yards.....
