I took my PPK/S apart for a cleaning.  Slide and hand grips off only.  Now the trigger will not reset half the time when the hammer is down.  I can push out on the trigger and get it to reset.  It appears the trigger is not going enough foward to engage the sear coming off the hammer.  It is a US made interarms so I dont think it is still under warranty.  Any help would be great.  Thanks

Docsprague:  I think I have the perscription for ya:  Minimal Disassembly  To remedy your affliction, I would suggest a 30-minute housecall to a qualified and liscensed gunsmith.  Most, will just put it back in shape for a cup of coffee.

Try taking the handgrips off again.  Also, did you clean old oil/crud  out ?  IIRC, there is a flat wire hairspring and a trigger bar that are all but touching the grip. Maybe something is still in that area. I have a German PP in .22, and there is a lotta spring action working against one little trigger return spring.  Hope that helps.

Stay safe

I had the same problem when I put some wood grips on mine. If you bought after market grips take them off and put the factory ones back on.

When I did the cleaning I took off the grips and cleaned it out with a spray cleaner.  Then re-oiled everything that looked like it needed it.  That is when the trigger would not reset with the grips on or off.  Well after letting it set over night it worked 100%.  So the only thing I can figure out is the oil had not made it to one critical spot.
