I purchased a set of used Meprolight night sights of a PPQ. they are the style with the screw on the side. Can I use them on my pps or do I need the the ones with sheet metal spring?

No, you can't put a PPQ rear sight onto a PPS, due the the PPQ's spring/plunger retention system. But you can put a PPS rear sight onto a PPQ.
