I have a friend who is need of some funds so he offered me his PPK. Walther make, not sure on the year, 2 mags, leather holster (not sure on the make), and 400rounds. $550.

The guy only buys nice looking guns and is very meticulous about maintenance. I've always kind of wanted one just because. So I am seriously thinking about it. If all else fails based on local pricing I figure I can turn around now and make some money off it if I want. What is the opinion on the pricing? From what I have seen seems like a decent price to me.

*Update*

I bought the PPK. Turns out it is a PPK/S-1. I know S&W PPKs have reliability issues, but this gun has functioned flawlessly for my friend so I think I'll enjoy it. Question though, the slide is ported, but the barrel is not. I cannot find anything online about ported PPKs. I've seen a few barrels on gunbroker,,but no actually PPKs. Is this a factory job or aftermarket?

It's a deal worth considering.  There's $150 worth of ammo.  Been toying with the idea of a PPK for some time now.  They're spendy little buggers.

I've seen them go for that price with one mag locally. I figured the ammo, extra mag, and holster were nice add ons. I'm thinking I'll go for it. Doesn't look like I would lose money on the deal if I decide to sell it down the road.

I'm thinking about a ppk as well based on some positive feedback here and elsewhere.  Let us know what you do.

I've had a PPK/S Interarms for 25 years and have shot and carried it a lot over the years.  I can shoot it 25 yards no problem with tight groups.  Not bad for what it is.  Also never had any jam issues.  It's a keeper.

I strongly doubt that's factory.

First, the barrel would be vented too, otherwise vents in the slide serve no purpose.
Second, there's an odd hole in the frame just in front of the trigger pin that shouldn't be there.

The porting is not factory and there is indeed and extra hole in the frame.

I've had excellent accuracy (for a pocket pistol) and excellent reliability with my S&W PPK/S, but be aware there was a recall on them.

Thanks for posting the recalled guns site. I just got PPK/S today at the Pawn Shop for $525 out the door with 2mags. This thing is like new and is not affected by the recall. Love it already
