Yesterday, I took the P22 out for a little range time and after the second magazine the slide wouldn't stay back on an empty magazine. A closer look revealed the slide is fractured in line with the slide stop knotch. I have the box my P22 came in, but I'm missing the instruction manual.

Mine cracked about the same time as the post above this. the crack on mine is about the same place as the OP. Mine is on the front side of the slide catch, all the way through. I sent it to S&W a week ago.
It has upwards of 8,000 rounds through it- maybe 10K. Not bad for a $200 gun. I've had not failures in that time. The only failures to cycle were with Aquila no powder rounds, or 22 shorts. |
