I picked up a Walther PPS last week and have put 300 rounds through it of various types of 9mm ammo.
Tula, Blazer, WWB 147 JHP, Brown Bear 145 JHP and WWB 115 grain all functioned without issue.
I did have instances where my grip affects the slide locking back on an empty mag but that was a known issue before I bought it. I'll have to pay attention to where my left right  thumb is.
Overall, I feel almost like every other CCW purchase (except my G36) was a waste of time and money.
I like the PPS that much.
Recoil is basically nil, it carries like a dream and function has been 100%.
Cons are the trigger, the reset is very gritty, no night sights and very little aftermarket.
It fits well in my Glock MTAC but I do plan on picking up a PPS specific MTAC in the near future.

It came with a 7 and 8 round mag, who has the best pricing on PPS mags?

I'd like to pick up a few more 7 and 8 rounders.

Congratulations on the new gun! I also have a PPS in 40 cal and have had no malfunctions. I received some lubing advice from someone in another forum and that made a big difference in the feel of the trigger. The manual does not tell you this but put some lube between the trigger bar and the trigger disconnect, also between the trigger bar and the frame. I also removed the striker from the slide and cleaned out the channel with CLP. The stiker is easy to remove so a regular cleaning is no problem. The striker spring is captured so you don't have to worry about parts flying accross the room.

I've made it a habit to oil/lube the fire control system on all my new guns to try and smooth out the triggers while I dry fire or live fire.

The trigger break isn't so bad and very comparable to my Glocks but the reset is terrible.

I'll more than likely try to emulate the $.25 trigger job on the PPS to see if it helps out.

Is the recoil so low because the bore-axis is really nice and low?

It looks like it is, because of how high the backstrap goes but I'm not certain. I know that Walther kind of gave the PPS a "fivehead" tall slide to compensate for the lack of mass it would have had otherwise because it's so thin.

I've yet to handle one in person, but this is a contender to replace my Glock 26. Although I'm on the fence, because feeling the Glock is "too thick" is probably just psychological on my part. It disappears in an IWB tuckable carried at 4 o'clock just fine.

I would say that the bore axis helps and the fact that the PPS weighs as much or a little more than the G26, unloaded.

I had a G26 but it felt like carrying a brick, same as my G19.

I love mine. between 1500-2000 rounds without issue. I have never had the open on empty problem you mentioned.  I shot a 500 round self defense class with it. Ran perfect. I use it with a MTAC. great set up.

I had read quite a few anecdotal accounts of the PPS not locking back last round due to the slide stop position relative to RH shooters who use a thumbs forward grip or just plain put their thumb in that position on the slide before I bought the gun.

I use a thumbs forward grip and it failed to lock back quite a bit, more often than not.

I'll have to shoot more and train out of it.

I just picled up a PPS as well and I am trying to train this issue out of my grip as well.  Let me know if you discover any tips.  I am currently trying to force my strong hand thumb to ride on my weak hand thumbs first joint as a point of reference.  It works ok until I do a reload and I go dumb

I shot 100 rounds this afternoon and still had it happen a few times.

I'm trying to hold my right thumb on my left hand and off of the pistol but it wants to drift back the longer I shoot.

I keep my left thumb right on top of my right thumb at about 10-11 to keep my right thumb from coming up.

I have the same PPS love it.  I also have the Comp-Tac Minotaur it is quite nice and makes carrying it even better.

After Xmas I plan on putting NS on the pistol.  I also plan on getting my G/F one for when she completes her concealed.

You also have the same problem as me with the slide stop..... Took me awhile of practive drawing and shooting it to get past it.

I got my MTAC last week along with a new belt. I ordered the velcro option and had some issues keeping the clips in place.

After swapping over to Crossbreed velcro clips versus the CTAC clips, I no longer feel like I wasted money on the deep cover velcro option.

I'm still having the same issue with the slide stop, just not as often.

I've looked at NS offerings and it seem that there's only a couple of options for the PPS, what sights are you going to use?

Meprolight I have had them on a few pistols and really like them.
