I say g2g they are some of the best bang for the buck 1911s out there.

I have several hundred rounds through mine with no isses at all. I carry it as my side arm every time we go to the ranch.

I would have to say get it.  I have fired my friends on quite a few occasions with varieties of ammo and it works as flawlessly as my custom 1911.

another  good bang for your buck 1911's is the STI Spartan.  and I have been wanting to see the new Remington 1911.

I've got one, and two of my brothers have them as well.  All have been 100% since being taken out of the box. Are they the same quality as the top shelf 1911s?  No way. But they are a good 1911 at a good price. Don't let the Taurus naysayers (and I'm sure they'll be around here soon) cause you to take the PT-1911 out of consideration.

I have the blued PT1911 blued and I like mine a lot.  I also have a Gold Cup National Match SS, a Springfield 1911 V-12 ported and a RIA 9mm.  In the past I had a Colt 1991a1 stainless, a Defender .45acp and a Springfield 1911a1 SS loaded.  All were very nice.

You'll find mostly good reviews from people who actually own one, me included. Try one out. I have a couple of high end 1911's and the Taurus actually works just as well and is nearly as accurate. Have fun and use the money you saved for ammo.

I really like my blued PT-1911. It has always gone bang when I pulled the trigger. My Springfield GI failed to go into battery a couple of times during the break-in period, but the Taurus has always functioned. I want another in stainless now.

I have several 1911's.  Got the Taurus first as I was trying to be cheap, then later moved up to more expensive brands just for the snob factor I guess.  To tell you the truth though.  It has been the most reliable gun I have ever owned.  ALWAYS works.  Can't say the same for the others that I paid more for.  Like some others said, people that own them will give you good reviews.  People who don't will say spend more.... go figure.

Friends dont let friends own a Taurus if you are looking for an inexpensive 1911 get a Para or even a Springfield

Bought one when they first came out.  Mine works fine.  100% reliable.  Decently accurate.

No complaints.

I got one at the end of last month and have about 300 rounds through it so far with no issues. Their claims about their slide to frame fitting is no lie, either! And the thing cycles a lot smother than my Springfield.

My only complaint is how thin the stock, plastic grips are. I'll fix that soon enough though...

I like mine. Bought it used for $400, and have only had a couple failures to feed due to lead reloads. Eventually I am going to replace the hammer and upgrade to a match grade barrel.

About 3000 rounds through mine with no problems.  Only thing I shoot is cast boolits.  And the safety hasn't fell off yet.  Good pistol.

I've had mine for almost 2 years and it has been great.  I dont think you can beat the price.

My wife won't say what she got mine for, but I know it was used.  It is not my first 1911 (or my last) but it certainly measures up with any other.  Currently it is my favorite 1911 (that is nothing special, I have attention deficit when it comes to guns).  I have put over 100 rounds through it without a single hiccup (that's impressive considering that nearly all the rest have required work before being so reliable).  I'm sure there are lemons out there, but the best I can tell most who have them like them.  Mine also is quite accurate in good hands (not mine, my wife's, I just shoot as fast as I can and that ain't very accurate at all).

Yeah I got a Stainless one, great for the money, just dont let taurus haters hate too much, I will be honest im still going to buy a Kimber some day just not today. My only complaint is that my slide where the barrel bushing sits is not machined perfect, but its not a 1200 dollar "Nice" 1911 or a 3000 dollar "perfect" one either Buy a taurus to shoot buy a Kimber to carry, period.

I bought mine to be a range beater and shooter, not a safe queen.

I bought a 38 super blued and have been very happy with it. Shot it in a IPSC match last weekend for the heck of it. No problems, ran fine. I do love this caliber and this gun. Plan on a few upgrades like a magwell and extended mag release for the next match. No it's not my Kimber but didn't cost like it either. For the price I intended on a range gun to beat up and play with. Now looking at shooting matches with it. Worth the money.

I picked my pt1911 up a couple months back,  I liked the gun but it started to FTE on the 8th round.  I had a local smith tune it and now it runs like a champ.  I still like it, but honestly wish i would have gone Springfield.
