| just wondering what every one has to say about the taurus 1911? yeah or nah .just exploring al my options |
| I've got one, and two of my brothers have them as well. All have been 100% since being taken out of the box. Are they the same quality as the top shelf 1911s? No way. But they are a good 1911 at a good price. Don't let the Taurus naysayers (and I'm sure they'll be around here soon) cause you to take the PT-1911 out of consideration. |
| I have several 1911's. Got the Taurus first as I was trying to be cheap, then later moved up to more expensive brands just for the snob factor I guess. To tell you the truth though. It has been the most reliable gun I have ever owned. ALWAYS works. Can't say the same for the others that I paid more for. Like some others said, people that own them will give you good reviews. People who don't will say spend more.... go figure. |

I got one at the end of last month and have about 300 rounds through it so far with no issues. Their claims about their slide to frame fitting is no lie, either! And the thing cycles a lot smother than my Springfield.
My only complaint is how thin the stock, plastic grips are. I'll fix that soon enough though... |

My wife won't say what she got mine for, but I know it was used. It is not my first 1911 (or my last) but it certainly measures up with any other. Currently it is my favorite 1911 (that is nothing special, I have attention deficit when it comes to guns). I have put over 100 rounds through it without a single hiccup (that's impressive considering that nearly all the rest have required work before being so reliable). I'm sure there are lemons out there, but the best I can tell most who have them like them. Mine also is quite accurate in good hands (not mine, my wife's, I just shoot as fast as I can and that ain't very accurate at all). |
| Yeah I got a Stainless one, great for the money, just dont let taurus haters hate too much, I will be honest im still going to buy a Kimber some day just not today. My only complaint is that my slide where the barrel bushing sits is not machined perfect, but its not a 1200 dollar "Nice" 1911 or a 3000 dollar "perfect" one either Buy a taurus to shoot buy a Kimber to carry, period. |
| I bought a 38 super blued and have been very happy with it. Shot it in a IPSC match last weekend for the heck of it. No problems, ran fine. I do love this caliber and this gun. Plan on a few upgrades like a magwell and extended mag release for the next match. No it's not my Kimber but didn't cost like it either. For the price I intended on a range gun to beat up and play with. Now looking at shooting matches with it. Worth the money. |

I picked my pt1911 up a couple months back, I liked the gun but it started to FTE on the 8th round. I had a local smith tune it and now it runs like a champ. I still like it, but honestly wish i would have gone Springfield. what about the taurus makes you wish you would have gone with a springer ? |
