| Is there anything I can do about the long trigger pull on the 1st round? I'm talking about the double action 1st round. |
|
whats your problem with it exactly ? is it overly heavy ? gritty ?
My PT92's double action pull is quite nice. if your wondering if there is anything you can do to make it feel more like a single action for the first round....well....you can always cock the hammer
I normally have mine cocked and locked unless im going to be moving around with it a great deal and wont need it right away in which case i use the decocker and the double action pull. If your having trouble with it being way to stiff or something of that nature and want it smothed out..maybe shoot Bill springfield an email and ask if he can work it out for you [not sure if he does the 92 platform or not but you can ask him..he normally gets back to me within 24 hours] or if you head over to the general forum and ask im sure someone knows of gunsmiths that work on the 92 platform and could help you smoothen it out but your always going to have that long double action pull unless you just use it cocked and locked or pull back the hammer for that first round |
| I had the springs completely replaced with Wolf units and the trigger cleaned up on my 92. It is better, but it isn't no beauty. The whole gun is pretty cheap really so I'm not going to spend anymore than that on it. I've shot it very little really. Might have even misplaced it in the house now that I think about it. Wonder where it is? If I should find it I might just trade it in on a new quality 1911. Sorry I can't be more of a help. If you yourself take it apart watch out for the spring under the grip it will fly on you if your not careful... |

The trigger pull is pretty heavy and long with the first round. I normally just pull the hammer back. It's fine after that but it's just feels like the double action is very long and not smooth. how many rounds does the pistol have through it ? normally the double action pull is kinda heavy untill you break it in with a few hundred or thousand rounds. You will never get it like the single action pull but it should lighten up with use, if you have a thousand rounds through it and its still heavy then a gunsmith can smooth it out but its always going to be a DA/SA... All pistols that use DA/SA are the same...sig, ect. |

On my 99 I can lower the hammer (pre de-cocker) then pull the hammer back a bit. There is a notch there (pre-cock?) and it will make that first double action shot a bit lighter. If nothing else buy some plastic snap caps and practice, practice. It will build muscle memory and smooth out the pull. |

It does help with the double action pull alittle. the snap caps and practic is ALWAYS a good idea =] |
