Yes. The only difference between a 92 and a 99 is the 99 has adjustable sights.  My 99 is an older pre-decocker model and has been flawless for thousands of rounds.

9mm tank.  I had two without the decocker.  I am looking for a PT92/99 with the decocker now.

I have an old PT99AF, and after a few thousand rounds, I blew the locking block once on a bad commercial reload (ammo problem, not gun problem). They sent me a new block, and I never had to send the weapon back to Taurus. Service was good. The problem with 99s is the rear sight blade...it is somewhat fragile, and myself and others have had them snap off (IMHO, micro click adjustable sights are virtually useless on a 9mm sidearm). Aside from that, it has been a great weapon.

That's the model I have too.  Built like a tank, and runs flawlessly.  I love it.

My 99  stainless eats everything I can stuff into the mags, no failures.

Anyone have a good solution for the sight problems. My 99 is having this problem also.

Thanks,

If you can get a used Beretta 92 in good shape I would go with a Berretta first, but a Taurus 92 or 99 is a good alternative.  I own one and it shoots well.  The sights suck compared to Berretta.  Take a look at MMC 3 Dot Tritium sights. For $89 plus shipping you can ship your slide to MMC and they will drill the front sight post and install a tritium lamp and put a better rear tritium sight on for you.
