| New to the CT grips. What distance is the best to zero the CT laser? Wifes J frame, my 3 inch 1911. Home defense/conceal carry. Have seen 7 yards recomended. Any thoughts. |

Quoted: I went with 50' because that is the longest shot possible inside my home. At closer range it won't be more than an inch or so off and won't make a big difference. This is the correct answer. Adjust it to be dead on at the longest shot you think you'll take. The furthest it can be off at closer range is the distance from the laser emitter to the barrel, usually around 1.5 inches. Mine are set to 25 yards. If you set it to be dead nuts on at 7 yards, it might be a foot or more off at 25 or 30 yards, rendering it useless. |
| Carried one on duty for years working nights set at 25 yards. At closer ranges, it isn't off enough to matter. The inch or so on a center mass shot at closer ranges is negligible. The first time you draw from the holster and drill the x ring on a B27 from the hip over and over in a tight group, you'll laugh out loud. Be careful when you clean it. I've seen lots of fuzzy dots on other guns from oil spatter over the years. |
