It was warm (hot) yesterday and I was off so I took Ken Null’s Vern Humphrey Holster (VHH) for another test drive. I wore the holster strong side at 3 o’clock with my Walton belt and a T-shirt over the pistol. The pistol I carried was my Ballester-Molina by Marianne Carniak of the Accurizer Gunshop in Troy, MI.
Ken Null’s version of the VHH continues to impress me. It is possible to comfortably carry a 1911 under a T-shirt without it printing. The VHH has a flare at the bottom of the holster similar to the one on a Milt Sparks Executive Companion and this helps to better distribute the weight of the 1911. The sweat shield also serves two purposes. It does stop body moisture from reaching the weapon and it protects your body from being rubbed by the grip frame or grips.
I recommend this holster. All you have to do is talk Ken Null into making you one and if I can do it anyone can.
