+1 Hands down Comp-Tac is one of the few companies left out there that take their customer service seriously. It is the best I have ever encountered and their products are superb. Going with Comp-Tac will be one of the best decisions you will make. |
+1 And their Paddle Holster is fantastic. It's as secure as most belt holsters. It's a great design. |

A week ago I ordered Comp-Tac FBI paddles for a 1911 and Sig 228...with matching magazine holsters. They arrived today...in the box with my order was two rolls of Smarties Anyway, I am the world's biggest paddle holster skeptic, having had a couple (one Fobus, one Uncle Mikes)..both were bigger than bricks and their retention on belt was for crap. If you yanked to draw, even if the weapon retention tension was set a little loose, the paddle would come out of the belt, and that was that. I just spent the last 30 minutes adjusting weapon tension and practice drawing...the holster is ROCK SOLID on draw, even when the tension is set so that you REALLY need to yank to budge the weapon loose, on both the 1911 and Sig holsters. They're VERY thin as well, much thinner than the Fobus and UM models I had. The holsters both disappear the guns much better than I ever expected a paddle to do. Normally I would carry with a pancake for the Sig (which hides it pretty well) and either a pancake or a shoulder rig for the 1911...I'll be using these paddles from here on out. Unfortunatly I have NOT tried the other holster brand you mentioned, so I have nothing to compare these to, except the Fobus and UM... One downside is that if you want to adjust the cant...well, you're kind of SOL. The upside is that you can order them with a custom cant. |

I keep telling people that the Comp-Tac paddle is amazing. Because of it's wide grip it's more secure that most other kydex belt designs (it just doesn't woble at all) and they are even tough to get off when you want to. the little hooks on each end and the velcro tabs just hold the thing snug. |
