Looking for recommendations for on shield holsters, I plan to wear the holster with shorts and a t-shirt.
Must conceal well.

I always plan to wear it while walking my dog in gym shorts.

I'm picking up a G-code holster, but would like another option for the mentioned above.

What position do you prefer to carry? I like the incog for the shield, but if you ware wearing gym shorts, you may need to pocket carry

The only thing I have so far is a belly band.

Works but it's a sweaty bastard.

If you plan on wearing no belt with gym shorts I would recommend a holster that uses an ulticlip. I just started messing around and making holsters with them and they work very well for gym shorts carry.

Cooks Holsters make the best kydex I've ever owned.

Absolutely blows away INCOG and JM Kydex.

This topic of holster options for a Shield should be a tacked thread somewhere

Someone asks this question every other day

Great prices, excellent holsters and a 2 week lead time.

Just bought another Cook's this morning for 20% off using "FREEDOM16" coupon code.

And no, I'm not affiliated, just a big fan. Best kydex out there IMO.

I've been using this brand since I got my shield and it's been my go to holster.  Great quality and best value for your money

Whats the best about them?
  • The mold to the gun is the best I've seen yet.
  • The ability to select the thickness of the kydex itself. 3 choices.
  • The best selection of kydex colors anywhere.
  • The ability to upload a photo of the ride height you want and have them make it exactly as you need it.
  • The finished product is seamlessly perfect. Nice attention to detail.
  • Very reasonable prices (and even better for the next few days with 20% off).
  • 2 week lead time, which isn't bad at all for a made to order holster.

I just got a JM Kydex for my VP9 after reading several good reviews. It's not nearly as nice as the Cook's. I have an INCOG as well. Nice holster, just not as good of a mold as Cook's. I'm actually pretty happy I found them because I've bought more freakin holsters through out my life and got rid of most for one reason or another.

I just buy from Cook's now. For me, the search for the best kydex is over.

A good review of Cook's Holsters

I use a belly band to run and I live in central Florida. Just have to be sure to wipe the gun down following your workout.

I love my Alien Gear holster. I don't know what they call the model now, it is the one with the leather backer. Comfortable as can be and conceals better than anything I have ever tried. Because they are built the same, a CrossBreed SuperTuck should be substantially the same, too.

I walk my dogs in Central Florida carrying a Glock 17 in a Raven Phantom. In fact, I just got back. When I had a Shield I used a Raven for it, too. With my build, though, the Shield didn't conceal any better under a t-shirt than my Glock does so I started wearing loose button down casual shirts and carrying the Glock OWB.

Gunners custom holsters, he has an ebay store. I really like them and can clip them to gym shorts easily.

I've recently taken to using my concealment express holster AIWB while wearing gym shorts. Wear just a slightly looser shirt and it disappears. It's a relatively meh holster but works great for that purpose.

I use a single clip kydex holster.  I have found I like to carry just forward of my hip at like 2:30.  Hides very well as the grip isnt poking out your back when you bend over and your arm is always "protecting " it.  I tried moving it closer to middle and not happening.  Too far back like 4:00 seems to drag on the pants more and stick out like I mentioned.

For carrying with gym shorts w/o a belt I'd look at Smart Carry, Thunderware, 3 Speed type holsters.

For shorts with a good gun belt I recommend a Vedder LightTuck holster.
