This is something I will not be packing in a holster. It needs to fit on a Beretta 92A1 and\or a Walther PPQ if that is even possible.
I know nothing about pistol rail mount lights, or how much to pay for a used one.

You can usually find TLR-1 lights under $100. I have three of them myself.

Too bright for use after waking up from a dead sleep.  If you can't see shit, you won't stay woke.

TLR-1 is just fine. Amazon just had a super deal on them, but they would only let you buy one.  I seem to recall it was under $75.

The streamlight M3 is now practically worthless, but I have two collecting dust.............they served well for years of nightstand use.  They aren't water proof like the TLR-1, so not acceptable for swinging........

TLR-HL great light for the money, and is a reliable platform.

Surefire x300.

I've had 3 tlrs go down. They were great to deal with but they went down while shooting in the dark, thank God I was just shooting paper.

My next light will be a inforce compact fow CCW

Pick up a used Surefire X300 off the EE for $100. The X300U is too bright for night stand duty IMO. Waking up and having the light bounce off white walls is a bit much. My wife has the standard X300 on her G19C and it is much more tolerable. The Surefire XC-1 is a good light, not too bright and it is compact enough to be practical for CC in an IWB holster. I have broken the lenses on two Streamlight TLRs. This was years ago and supposedly they have addressed the issue in the newer models. Surefire is not a perfect company and I am sure people have broken a Surefire light but I have yet to personally break one of their lights. For that reason I continue to lean towards a Surefire product over a Streamlight product. YMMV.

I'm a TLR-1 non HL fan.  Bright enough to illuminate anything you need to but no so bright to wash out your low light vision.

Best "bang for your buck"

Surefire X300U.

Never been a fan of the streamlight TLR's or Inforce APL's.....they ARE NOT up to the same quality as Surefire, period. Surefire's are more expensive, but they're the best, don't skimp out.

Have most other options as well but nothing operates KISS as the APL

Regular TLR-1 works great for handgun, I went with the HL on my AR and shotgun.

If you're on a budget, TLR-1hl. Good value, SUPER BRIGHT!  You can find like new Surefire x300u's for $170-180.  I prefer my x300u's, sold my TLR-1hl.
