Hey all, Ive switched from carrying my Springfield XDsc9 IWB. (Alien gear, Wolf hollow) Now I'm selling it because I'm much more confident with my glock 19.
My question is, Ive done a lot of searching around for a great holster to conceal this slightly larger G19. I think I have narrowed it down to the INCOG eclipse IWB from G Code, would you say its safe to end the research? I am near certain I want all kydex. BTW I do have a Oneshot Industries belt on the way. Thanks guys. |
| The Incog is nice I had one for a short time it didn't conceal my 19 very well the grip stuck way out, I ended up selling it and I now use the eidolon holster hands down the best AIWB holster I've worn has a wedge and claw that just tucks that grip into ya and is so very comfy,... Blackfriday they had them on sale for $60.. I almost bought another LOL but didn't ...either way get what works for you and fits you.. Lots of great choices out there.. |

Take a good look at the T-Rex Arms Raptor holster too. ETA: The Raptor has a claw and appears to really pull the G19 grip in closer to the body. I'm expecting my Raptor to arrive this Saturday. These guys have good prices and they take tons of pictures of their products. Check out their website and also look for them on Tumblr, Instagram, and Facebook too. |

The Phlster with a wedge works similarly but is a little more bulky. If carrying at 3:00-5:00 strongside, you might be alright but I've never seen an INCOG carried anywhere but appendix. |
| The Incog is one of those compromise holsters that they market for AIWB and they tell you that you can wear it anywhere IWB. I ordered one and it was mediocre IMHO. I wouldn't recommend it. No experience with Trex, but their products definitely look sweet. If your planning on carrying AIWB, I would stick with a holster designed solely for that location. Something like JMCK, Keepers, CCC Shaggy, etc.. I carry a G23 in JMCK AIWB and it is the most comfortable and most concealable holster I have ever had. |

If so, why did you opt for the Raptor versus the SideCar? Is the Raptor essentially a SideCar holster less the extra magazine slot? |

If so, why did you opt for the Raptor versus the SideCar? Is the Raptor essentially a SideCar holster less the extra magazine slot? Yes. I really like the idea and the design of the SideCar, and I seriously considered the SideCar until I stuck one of my Kydex IWB single mag carriers and my no-name AIWB Kydex G19 holster together in the front of my pants in the same position to simulate wearing the SideCar. It was just a little too much bulk up front for me to hide at only 5' 8" & 140 pounds, so I opted to go with the Raptor only - and yes, it is essentially the SideCar without the extra magazine slot. The Raptor actually arrived today and I've been wearing it all evening around the house. Excellent quality and fit. Very comfortable. Ride height is perfect. My only surprise was that it has a slight (maybe 5 degree) forward cant. I prefer a straight drop, so I shot a note over to T-Rex Arms to see if I should elongate the clip mounting holes with a file to adjust the angle. I don't want to screw up anything and void the warranty. Their website says it may take as long as a week to hear back from them due to all the orders they're processing. I'm content to wait. First world problems and all that. Who knows, I may get used to the forward cant after a week and decide to leave it be. That SideCar is a very slick setup for sure though. I wouldn't hesitate to get it if I were bigger. Heck, I may end up ordering one anyway. Tons of pictures featuring it on T-Rex Arms' website and social media links. |

I run both the SideCar and Raptor lightbearing(formerly called the Nomad in the lightbearing form). If you are used to appendix carry either will work for you and be comfortable(may be relative depending on your size). Im not a big guy, 6' and 185lbs with an athletic build. I carried both the SideCar and the Raptor/Nomad all summer in just shorts and t-shirts with no printing, and im super anal about not printing because it just makes me crazy for some reason.
I carry a G19 with an RMR and APL light about 90% of the time, with the rest of the time being rotated between another 19 with no light, a G43 with TLR-6 and extra mag carrier, or some mouse guns. I will say that these holsters are so good at avoiding printing because they jam the grip INTO your stomach, so if your grip is aggressively stippled you may need to wear an undershirt. My stippling is rather aggressive, but I like it and it doesn't really bother my stomach after a couple days getting used to it initially. Basically its nice for me to have both so I can have the option of carrying a spare mag or not, depending on location/timeframe/whatever etc. I have posted in several of these threads praising Trex Arms, but im far from a fanboi for any company. I have had several communications with Lucas ranging from an issue I had with a holster, to asking if it was possible to get a pattern Kydex that he didn't have as an option on the website, to just BSing around pretty much. So in MY experience his customer service has been fast and efficient, and the products ive received have been finished well with good fit and function. |

I use an INCOG for my G19 and like it....but I'll take a look at this Eidolon you speak of. Never heard of'em. |

| I carry a 19 in an INCOG and am a fan of the holster. I carry behind the hip with just one clip. Its easy to get on and off and provides a fast smooth draw with no drag like leather. Between that and a Raven OWB I doubt I'll buy any more carry holsters for a long time. |
| I have an incog holster for the G26. I don't like it very much. I find it very uncomfortable when wearing for prolonged periods of time and the grip tends to stick out a little bit more than my other (3) holsters. Right now my favorite to carry in is a comptact m-tac holster. It's comfortable, I can wear it all day long, and it's lasted me several years with no issues. |

Glad to hear you like it! You may want to get yourself one of these belts for AIWB carry: http://www.stormridergear.com/collections/warlord/products/warlord?variant=6145970563 - I've got one waiting for me under the tree. I normally AIWB carry with my Beltman belt http://www.thebeltman.net/www/htdocs/bh112.htm (slide buckle over to the far left for best results), or with my Ultimate Gun Belt http://www.abetterbeltusa.com/the-ultimate-gun-belt/ Both leather gun belts support the gun very well for AIWB carry. A real gun belt makes a huge difference. |

The raptor works well. The only issue i had was the claw was just too much and forced the grip uncomfortably. I still switch between that and the Incog. Cant go wrong either way. Try putting the claw on the back of the holster instead of the front. You could also try turning it around or even cutting some of the length off...remove half of the curved section and it won't turn the grip as much. Many options all the way to removing it completely. |
