I'm looking for a light for my M&P 9c. I've checked out the streamlight tlr3 but 90 lumens leaves me unimpressed. Is there another compact option that puts out >120 lumens (or somewhere thereabouts)?
This light will not be carried, but it will be mounted on my pistol at night in my bedside table. |

If someone were to stand across a room and shine their TLR-3 in your face, you would understand that 90 lumens is plenty for a bedside gun. Go too bright and you're not only gonna blind the bad guy but yourself as well, especially in a house. |

Sounds like Southnarcs AMIS is your route. You will find out a tlr 3 is more than sufficient. There were times I wished for less light believe or not. 90-120 is fine. |

I will keep my eye open for good deals on the tlr3/4. Appreciate the input! |

The Viridian CTL is another option.

I used a TLR3 on duty for a long time and its bright enough to do large building searches with out a problem.
I did upgrade to a TLR1 HL recently and it's fucking bright! If you sweep a white wall right in front of you it will mess up your night eyes for a few seconds. Otherwise the added lumens are great obviously. They both have pros and cons |

This might be a better option. I had a customer drop one of these off with a PPQ to make a holster for, so I got to play around the shop with it. Nice light and not too bad for the price. I'm sort of under-whelmed with the TLR-3 and I like my old TLR-1 that I've had for 5 years now. I still carry it every day on my FNP45.

Outdoors maybe, but I've damned near blinded myself with my Stinger LED clearing a room with a white wall. I can't imagine what the brighter, 600 lumens pistol mounted lights would do to your night vision indoors. Then again, I don't turn it on and clear places with it, I flash it randomly or if I need to see an area I can't readily make out.
