I ordered Novak sights for my XD .45 a few years ago and I have had it stored in the safe since.  I decided to swap my carry out and the white dot fell out the rear sight at some point.  I contacted Novak and they want me to send it in and they will paint a new white dot in it, or offer to upgrade to another type.  I really don't want to go through the hassle again of removing and sighting them in, plus the rear is custom width aperture.  I would like to repair it myself, but I'm questioning Novaks quality of manufacturing and if the white dots just fall out I probably should consider a different product for future reference.  I don't have a sight jig anymore which makes things more complicated..

As they say...anything made by man...da da da...

I've had great luck with Novak, Ameri-glo, 10-8 and Trijicon sights, however I've seen white dots fall out of M&Ps as well as XDs. My Tru-glo tritium/fiber optic combo sights have held up very well on my XD45 Tactical.

If you don't want to ship the slide back to Novak's, you might want to check a local hobby store for some white paint markers similar to a sharpie pen. Touch up as needed.

XD sights are hydraulically pressed in from the factory and have given many a gunsmith a major headache. Sometimes simple is good albeit an inconvenience.

Anything manufactured can be made wrong.  Novak is being a stand up company, let them take care of it.  See if they will swap for tritium for the hassle?

Upgrading to night sights will cost me 100 I would guess. I removed the xd sights with a mill vise and a brass block, used penetrant prior to removing and they were tight.
