Hey guys,
I just got a Gunvault Micro to put my pistol in when it sits on my nightstand but I want to figure out a better way to secure it to my bedside table.  The cable it comes with is pretty small and could be cut very easily, and I thought of bolting the safe to my nightstand but my nightstand is not particularly heavy or sturdy so I feel that someone with a pry bar could pretty easily just rip the safe right off the stand.  Has anyone thought of a better way to secure a small safe or is there really nothing I can do short of having a full-size gun safe?

That safe is only made of 20 guage sheet metal and is really designed to keep your kids out. A small prying toool can probably defeat it very quickly. Look for a stronger handgun safe to start with and anchor it to something more solid like the floor next to your bed or even a wall stud. Maybe to both if possible.  7 guage is currently the heaviest being used in a hangun safe and that is equal to 3/16" plate steel and will at least buy you more time.

+1. I have one at my bedside as well to hold one of my G23. I have it so that I can access my gun quickly should the need arise while at the same time securing it from my 4 year old. The rest of my guns are kept from evildoers in a larger safe which is secured to the wall studs.
