I normally carry a j-frame in a nemesis or a cheap open top iwb but have a king tuck when i need extra retension or when i need something tuckable. However, the clips don't let you tuck too much of your shirt in. Has anyone swapped the metal clips out for the comp-tac clips? They are much longer and would allow you to tuck more of your shirt in.

Nevermind.  I tried it myself.  The screws are the same size and thread so I was able to use the same backing.  Because the Comp-Tac clips are thicker, I had to use the screws but otherwise it worked fine.  Here are the pics:

The original clips are only 2" deep and tight which makes tucking in a shirt more difficult

The Comp-Tac clips are longer and more flexible which makes tucking a shirt in easy

With the Comp-Tac clips installed on the King Tuck, I get the same "tuckable" benefits of the Comp-Tac with a comfortable holster for my J-Frame
