I just got a horse hide high noon tailgunner for my Sig 225.  The fit is so tight I can barely get the pistol in or out.  Are there tricks to breaking in a new holster that I'm unaware of?  Thanks

you can try working it alot or use mink oil to soften the leather and work it.

Don't soften it! You want a good holster to be HARD! It should be tight...even in horsehide. Try wetting it a little with water or even rubbing alcohol (I would not use alcohol if it is anything other than natural in color) and stuff the gun in and let it stay there for 12-24 hours...that should help a lot. If that does not do it, try some "Leather Lightning" or a similar product...I think Wilsons sells it.

Time will wear it in, don't soften it.

Put the pistol in a plastic bag and force it into the holster. Leave it there for a few days. The thickness of the bag will stretch the holster enough. DO NOT SOFTEN YOUR HOLSTER!!!! If you do, you will seriously regret it later.

Rusty Sherrick makes some great shit called "HYDE GlLIDE".  It's $10 for a bottle but it is a water souluable thick fluid that when rubbed on gunleather, makes it a bit more pliable without sacrificing the fit or durability of the holster.

Thanks for the help, it's much better, I took mo4040 advice, and it seemed to work.
