| The factory original bullets with black coating that have existed in the past are all pretty rare now. Black Talons are actually the most commonly available ones since there's always some for sale on GB. There are also usually some of the German WWII era 9mm steel core black bullets available on GB (FMJ). The other original black bullets were Norma's "Black Diamond" in .45acp (very rare, but I have about 90 of them if you want a few), and Shooter's Clinic brand "Black Lightning" - I have in 45Winmag if you want some huge .45 caliber HP black bullets. If you wanted to go absolutely insane with a factory original black bullet, you could go with the KTW .44 automag bullets (shown in my other thread in this folder "the crazy ammo box") which were solid monolithic brass, and which were originally coated in black for a while before going green. I've only seen a couple of those black brass bullet types in several years of collecting, and they go for $25.00 a piece & up. If you wanted some half black / half copper projectiles, you could go with the armor piercing ANSB tubular bullets from Guilford Engineering, shown in an IAA thread I posted: http://iaaforum.org/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8802&hilit=ansb I have some of these also (most expensive). |
