Searched, couldn't find anything...

Heard on the radio this morning Cabela's is selling 9mm ammo for $8.99 per 50 round box.

I called Cabela's, and the guy said it is made by a Hungarian company called MFS for Cabela's. Brass cased, boxer primed, 115 grn, and had around 5,000 boxes of it in inventory for sale.

Anyone know anything about MFS?

stay away from it. i got a case of it in 380. average 4-5 bad primers that didn't go per 50 round box. failed to fire in 2 guns. nice deep primer strikes. it really takes some of the fun out of shooting when you have a failure in every mag and you know its coming

I'd just buy Federal 9mm at Walmart for $9.50 or whatever it is right now.

Can't speak to other calibers, but I bought about 500 rounds of .45 a couple of years ago - not a problem in the whole batch.  Was clean and every round went bang.  Have been looking for it ever since, because it was cheap at the time.  YMMV.

I've  had both the 45 ACP and 9mm ball loadings of it.

No failures in several boxes of each.

Inexpensive but good practice ammo.

It's good.

At $8.99, I went ahead and picked up a box. Even if it does suck, it'll be great practice for failure drills.
