Hello fellas! I am in need of some 44 special ammo. I bought a new charter arms "bulldog" from my uncle ( mess tendons up in his shooting hand) My dealer has that "cowboy" stuff for about $27.50 a box. I bought one to test the gun out, but the way i see it, i may have to invest in brass and reload my own. Does anyone have brass for sale, or knows where i could get .44 spl ammo at a really good price? I know this is one of those hard to find ammo, but i love this gun and i really want to put rounds down range before i make it my "carry piece."

thanks

I've always been very pleased with the GDHP loads in .44SPL from Georgia Arms.

Good stuff, IMHO.

.44 special brass is relatively easy to find,  MidwayUSA will have some, most better stocked gunshops around here have .44 special brass.  H. universal is a good powder.

The 200 grain gold dot is a good bullet, Speer sells this in a 20 round pack with brass cases and a 50 round package with aluminum cases (???).  Georga Arms is fairly well regarded as a commercial reloader, so I'd personally be ok with those loads as well.
