230 Grain JHP, the product number is HLD45HST1. Grey box that says "Homeland Defender" and "Fear No Evil" on it. At first I didn't realise it was the HST until I asked the clerk when they'd be getting more in .45 as they have plenty of 9mm and .40. He said this was it, and that it came that way in the 20 round boxes. It doesn't say Federal on the outside of the box, but the cases are marked Federal 45 Auto +P. On the back it says made in Anoka, MN and that the "Homeland Defender" and "Fear No Evil" are trademarks of Tripp and Associates. What is this? Made by Federal and just sold with some cheesy marketing? Or the commercial packaging instead of the tactical law enforcment labeling? |
| Have not seen any of this, but remember, ATK owns both Speer and Federal now. The LE ammo website has no info on a 'Homeland Defense' load but does show a .45 / 230+P load in the HST. Given the current sky high prices for ammunition, and with agencies cutting back on orders, my WAG is that this is ATKs chosen way of selling more HST and getting it into the commercial market. |
