The very slight reduction in recoil if there is such a thing isn't worth lowering the performance of the caliber through hard barriers in my opinion.
Even 147 is too much. They originally were designed for subsonic use but later marketed to people who think a higher number means it is better.
Heavy grained bullets are only good if using solid bullets for woods carry that don't open up and parachute to a stop like hollow points do. In that case, the heavier, the better because there is nothing to stop the added momentum of the extra weight except the meat and bones from the animal itself.
In a hollow point, a 115, 124, 147, or a 150 gr will penetrate and parachute to a stop into the same window of 12 to 18 inches assuming a cheap bullet isn't used.
Why bother? It costs more too and as mentioned above, you ain't feel the slight recoil if you are amped up.
