Someone owes me a favor and I have my choice of three cases of 9 mm ammo to make it good. They have Winchester Ranger LE, Speer Gold Dot and Federal HST. Which one do I pick up later this evening?

Federal HST. Pretty much the best bullet design going right now in that caliber for SD. (if you're not shooing through barriers first)

I was leaning toward the Winchester actually......

They are all good ammo and all run equally as well in several 9mm guns that I have.  I usually buy any of the 3 if I can find them, but the Ranger-T seems to be the hardest to find.

+1 HST

There are no losers in that line up. Personal preference is the only real difference.

There are so many types of Ranger 9mm. The T-Series may not be what the guy has.

I'm aware of that and was just passing on my experiences.  However, OP made it seem like new production cases, so I would assume it would be the -T and not the bonded.  Maybe OP can find out...

The only 9mm that are not currently made would be the SXT, T-Series, Bonded bullet that looks like a Gold Dot  and the 147 jhp. Other than that it could be fmj, T Series Enhanced, or Bonded ie PDX1.

Have been at testing with 147 HST into gel and thru various things.  Impressive enough we went to it as carry round for duty G17s.

I'm sold..

Thanks for clarifying...

I'll probably grab the HST's. They have been tough to find, well, everything has been tough to find actually. The benefit of 147's is that they will suppress better and they will be easier on my Hi Powers than some of the +p+ 124's......

HST is the best objective performer, no reason to use anything else if you gun runs on it.

Ranger T (not sure where "LE" fits in) is the best in heavy clothing.

It also depends on what your gun likes.  I have a couple of Kahr's that for some reason don't group worth a damn with Gold Dot's, but LOVE HST's as in one hole groups love.  Seriously, my standard is a 5" x 5" square at 10 yards [come on it's a CCW gun, not a target pistol] and with the HST's all of the holes are touching, but the Gold dots are barely minute of pie plate at that range.  As another data point, those same guns shoot CCi Blaser 147's flawlessly, but don't feed Remingtons at all.

The moral of the story is buy some of each and TEST them.

All good rounds, between the three I would go with the HST's as long as they shoot fine in YOUR gun.

Kind of on topic, but has anyone seen any 50 round boxes of the above mentioned 3 in-stock in the 147gr. variety?  I have plenty of 124 gr. +P, but would like to try some 147gr. in my guns.

SG ammo has/had them not long ago. They have a pretty decent selection most of the time.

I would pick the HST, Gold Dot, then Winchester (in that order)

Winchester really depends on which part number.  Could be any of a half dozen rounds, some of which are significantly better than others.

You can always sell or trade them if you or you gun does not like them. Mine have been all sold before I unloaded them from the truck this year.

I have read that the standard pressure is better.
I got a case of the 147 standard pressure.

Excellent pick

I would love a small stash of HST but in 124gr+P  For the Slide velocity

The 147 grain HST is by far the best for that weight, and is what I use in the colder months.

I also use Speer 115 Gold dots for warmer months.

All things being equal, I would go with the HST. In my limited experience, HST edges out all the others, but only by a slim margin.
Personally, I would probably get 2 cases of HST and one of Ranger T. I really like the T-series, even though I consider the HST to be a better bullet.
