Im afraid it doesn't work that way, it's straight up scarcity. I can't find 45 at any of my normal sources, including reload shops like Freedom Munitions. There are no components available. Unfortunately I'm laying this on free market economics. |

The store I work at has UMC Bulk, 500 rds of 230Gr for $249.00 and it sells the minute it hits the floor. WE got two palates of it (roughly 200 boxes) and it was gone in no time.
In feb I stocked up on .45. The UMC yellow box bulk packs of 250 were on sale, now that PLUS my usual 25% associate discount so I was paying $75.00 per box.  4 boxes to the case so that was $300 p/1000 rds. IIRC i brought home 4 cases= 4000 rds for not much more than $1100. The wife was like wtf do you need all that !!!!
That much 230 gr FMJ is heavy trust me.. MY goal is 10,000 rds per each caliber so I am GTG now on 45 and 5.56 |

Most of the dealers are too. This was the only ball ammo available to me that didn't have a number of boxes restriction on them. The nice thing is I can finally leave the cases lay and I don't have to go hunting for them. I already have enough .45 brass, now all I need is the bullets and powder. |

Wish I knew, last year I was buying Wolf polyformance from AIM Surplus for $15/box, now all they have is Silver Bear for $23/box (I think they still showed some in stock last friday). The only Wolf polyformance I can find online is $30/box! I just ordered 100 rounds of loose pack American Eagle from ammunition depot for 60 cents/round. |
