Was just looking though my Cabela's Shooting Catalogue and they list ammunition by a company called Herter's.  Well Herter's has a product line manufacturerd by Blazer that has an aluminum case and a bullet with a total nylon jacket.  Not copper, but nylon.

Anybody tried this stuff?  It's an interesting take and different, which is why I ask.  Oddly, the savings doesn't seem to be there.

Is it anything like the Federal Nyclad.

I don't have any experience with them. I have heard second and third hand accounts that the nylon build up in the barrel can be worse to remove than leading.

Lot's of people use Nyclad rounds for SD in .38. When I was searching other places (other than arf) looking for SD recommendations, I ran across a LOT of nyclad. No word on buildup, but as far as I know, it's good to go.

It's basically CCI Blazer aluminum loaded with Federal Nyclad bullets. Both Federal and CCI/Speer are owned by ATK, which explains why we're seeing crossovers in product lines.
