While loading mags with Winchester Q4172 9mm today I ran into several rounds where the casemouth of the cartridge was flared out. I purposely loaded some of these rounds at the top of a mag to see if there would be any problems shooting it. I was shooting it through a gen 4 Glock 19.
The only real problem I encountered was one FTRTB with one of the cartridges. The slide was a few millimeters away from closing and was very hard to rack when I cleared the failure. Has anybody seen this with WWB before? |

Sounds like they missed the crimp. I wonder if it was made here or made down in MS by new unskilled cheap labor. Where is the plant in MS? I have been through about 5,000+ rounds in the last year of WWB and have had no problems.. I use it in my uspsa matches |
| Oxford, the State in a brilliant move gave Winchester 30 million from the Katrina recovery money to help build a plant. Even at less than half pay of the current Winchester employees here in my area this will be a financial boom for MS. I have family, friends, and neighbors that are packing up their families and following their jobs south. They will never make the money that they make now but they have never done any other job and there is not much left around here. |
| I have personally shot over 100,000 rounds of WWB over the past 10 years and I have not had a single problem with it. I have cut way back on shooting recently and I'm not sure about the current crop of WWB. I still bet it is the best quality practice ammo on the market along with Federal Red and Black box. |
| I have used WWB with good results for years as well. However, I recently had a problem with it in my M&P9c. I had several brands of factory ammo at my last range session and the WWB was the only brand giving me trouble. I had about 1 in 10 primer strikes that failed to ignite the primer. The strikes looked pretty good and on the second try they would ignite every time. In fairness, I just got the pistol back from S&W after sending back for light primer strikes. Maybe the problem is still with this pistol and not the ammo. I intend to take my trusty Glock 26 out & try this same lot of WWB in it. |

WWB 115 FMJ is usually all I shoot in 9mm. Never had any issues with it in thousands of rounds, although I have recently switched to Federal, as it is a little cheaper. where? Thanks Wal-Mart sells it. It is in a black and red box. That's Federal Champion. It's good stuff. |

All of my WWB ammo is from 2010 and previous years I have had a few bad primers and duds but that is to be expected out of the thousands of rounds in multiple calibers each.
Although with all the talk about QC taking a major dump for Winchester's cheap ammo I have been buying alot of Remington and Federal the past year or so and they have performed flawlessly. |
