Yep, nothing like starting a small fire inside a person's body for stopping power. Or watching peoples heads explode like over ripe melons in a Taurus Judge commercial.

Since I'm feeling whimsical, I'll allow this to continue within reason. It's not technical, but we can use a little humor now and then.

Hahah, Inferno bullets would be awesome..., I wonder if a tracer round might act a little like an "Inferno" bullet.

Was probably a dupe when I posted it.

Fuckin' hilarious, though so it deserves a bump. I think it's lame anyway calling "dupe" on stuff that wasn't posted several times the same day.

Inferno bullets sound really technical.

You'd need optimum penetration to reach the center of the body, then an oxidizer to provide oxygen for the initial burning material, a fuel that would produce enough enough heat for the combustion to continue on it's own and a large enough wound channel to provide oxygen for the continued burning of the target. Pretty tough to accomplish even in a 230 gr .45 Auto round, let alone something really challenging like a 36 gr .22 LR.

It's techology that could also save a lot of money.  All you'd have left after a shoot is a pile of ash - kinda like on that Star Trek episode where people were dehydrated to a pile of salt - reducing graves registeration personnel requirements for the military and saving on cremation and burial costs following civilian shoots.

Perhaps best of all it would end all the "one shot stop" debate.

A Willy Pete round would be a good place to start...
