I have had accurails installed and I had to relieve some of the barrel hood to compensate for the lowering of the slide.

Now I need to decide on a link size.

Do I put in the tallest link that will allow a smooth lockup?  Or do I need to put one in that will allow the slidestop to ride on the lower lugs?

Ride the slidestop, or the lower lugs?

The one that came with the gun rides the slidestop.

I get a tight lockup either way so in my estimation riding the lower lugs is best.  But it is .003 less upper lug engagement, if that matters.

Thanks!

There is a guy on the 1911forums and 1911org called 1911 tuner that has saved me many a headache on  1911 hiccups. I'd ask him, he saved a big headache on a kimber that was ftf. I kept thinking it was the mags and in part they were, put it the next size down barrel link and it solved my problem.

This does not sound good.  Where did you remove metal?

It has to link down correctly, or it won't last.  Schuemann has the best explanation on his website.
