| Just bought one for 750, its got some wear. I can forward pics for better valuation. If i sent it back to Colt would it kill the value? I know aftermarket will but not sure about orig manufacture finish!?! Let me know thanks |

That depends on how much wear.
If it's not too bad, a refinish will lower the value since it's no longer in original condition. However, if it's really worn a Colt factory refinish may actually increase the value. A refinish by a non-Colt factory source will lower the value unless the gun has little finish left. Note that Colt is way behind on refinish work because so many people are sending in Pythons for work, and may not even be taking new work right now. You may have to wait some time, but unless the gun is pitted it'll come back looking like a brand new gun. When you get the gun back save the invoice from Colt. This will be proof the refinish was a Colt factory job and will up the value if you ever sell. |
