I have a 637-2 with a lock. I like it a lot and it goes everywhere with me. I am looking at a 442 no lock due to the rebate. I carry this all the time and have some worries about the gun rusting, not being stainless. Anything else I should consider?
Thanks! |

I just picked up a 442 Pro Series without the lock last month. The Pro is also cut for full moon clips. Currently Smith is saleing the standard 442/642 with or without the lock, 442/642 Pro without the lock and models 40/42 without the locks. There is a 642 that is finished in black but it does have the lock. I owned a 442 that I purchased around 91-92 that I carried in Kentucky and for a year in NC before I sold in 07'. This new one is a replacement for my old one which I never had a problem of rusting. I would wipe it down every evening when I was done carrying it.
On Smith web page it states that the the 442 Pro has a Stainless Steel Cylinder and their product page states that it has a carbon steel barrel. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_766343_-1_757895_757775_757751_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y CD |
