Does anyone know if Smith and Wesson still operates a custom machine shop? I read years ago in a gun rag that they had set up a machine shop specializing in finer, smaller machine work that the local tool and die might not be able to handle. I checked on their website and found no mention other than they offer heat treating, forging, plating, and finishing.
