One of my coworkers recently picked up a S&W revolver.  It appears to be refinished, but if so it's quite well done w/ no wear on the markings.  He has done some research on it, but hasn't found anything similar online.  It has a large H on the back of the cylinder.  SN of 939X.  Anyone know anything about this, or is it just a nicely refinished revolver? (Which would obviously have less value.)

Highway Patrol model 28, should be on the barrel. I think the -2 is still a pinned and recessed. The finish is not as nice on the 28 as the 27 but the 28 is a solid gun.

A gun like this with a combination of blue and nickel finishes is called a Pinto. It would be interesting to letter this one (send for a factory letter) and see if it's legit, I doubt it.

This.

ETA: can also be a combination of stainless and blued.

I'd get a factory letter.  If it is a model 28 pinto from the factory it is pretty unusual and a bit rare.
