Anyone know where I can find a 4506 extractor? I am experiencing failure to extract on my 4506. I have replaced the extractor spring and still have the problem.

I talked to Smith about this and was told they will not sell the part. You have to send in the gun so it can be fitted and test fired. They told me they do not allow anyone to install this part.

Lotta co's are like that,  Ruger comes to mind.     Anyway, try Numrich Arms (Gunparts  Corp) www.e-gunparts.com.   Very likely that they'll have the thing in stock.

I am a s&w  armorer and the extractors for  4566's I have worked on do not need fitting. They are drop in parts.  If you can get the part you should have no problem putting it in.  To tell if your spring is bad or worn out you will need to take a measurement with an extractor guage.
