had this thing for years finally shot a box of ammo out of it.  Very accurate but not my cup of tea.  Going to sell it but what would be fair any of you seen any sell lately, it has a 6 inch barrel and large grips.  Does $500 ish sound out of line?

I have only 1 other smith and that is my bodyguard and I will be buried with it but I have no like for this 22.

any help is welcome.
thanks Jim

If it is without box, papers and accessories I would say $400.

Don't sell it. One day you will want to teach your kids, or maybe grand kids to shoot a handgun and it will be a jewell for that. I have held on to my 17-2 for precisely that reason. My oldest grandson will likely get it one day. The new S&Ws cannot compare in smoothness or quality to the old.

Sage advice! Listen & heed it, IMO. One can never have too many fine .22's, IMO.

Keep it oiled, pack it away if you must but NEVER sell it!

I just found a 17 - nothing last year. I have a few other .22 revos, but I have no intention of selling this one or any others. I don't believe in selling anything. Hold it. It is a classic and will only go up in value.

I traded into my 4" 617 for about 525 without any papers or box.  I know it was a little steep but the revolvers are generally not around here and it was a 4" brl with factory grips.
