My friend has a new S&W 340 (I think) that has a major soft strike problem. We were out shooting magtech LRN and 1 in 5 failed to discharge. I tried some of his ammo and some of the soft struck rounds through my S&W 66 and it worked fine.
I thought S&W was high quality, is this a common problem? PS. I think it was a 340, it was a small black hammerless airweight. Thanks |
| That's very uncommon for a new S&W right out of the box. Are you sure no one has done an 'action job' on it and cut the mainspring? If not, make certain he has the $#@#$ lock ALL the way off and that it is not moving under recoil and resetting itself partially. If all seems as it should be and no one has messed with the pistol, send it back...S&W will make it right at no cost to him. |
