Question is on trigger travel.
I've put about 600 rounds thru my sigma sw40ve.
The trigger pull is about 1/4 lighter then when it was new.
My only beef now is travel. Compared to other handguns
the trigger weight is just a smidge heavier then average,
of course this might not be bad considering no decocker or
safety.
Will getting it modified to reduce travel be worth it since
it seems that the trigger pull weight issue semi resolves
itself after 3-4 months?

If you send the gun off to get worked on by guys like Burwell or Bowie, you will see nothing but improvement. I have yet to see a factory trigger, even after being broken in, that matched the feel of a trigger job from one of those two guys.
