I bought my Little 6906 back in 1995 It shoots tighter groups than my 5906 When did S&W Drop the 6906 and WHY?? maybe the OLD BAN on HiCap mags I think it was one of the Best 9mm that they made Easy to pack IWB Mag holds 12rds After Market 13 Pretty accurate Qusetion on the S&W site it states Nite Sights are for LEO ONLY My 6906 has them? Ive been wanting to get them replaced They seem a bit dull |
I had a 5906 First it was a nice Pistol Plus looks good I traded the 5906 for the 6906 w/ nite sites I found that my 6906 can do everything my 5906 could do and without the wieght 6906 has 2 to 3 rounds less rounds I still have a Few 14rd and 15 rd mags left They work fine in my 6906 but I never use them |
Are those mags for the 5906? If so what color is the follower? Want to sell them? Thanks! |

I've gone to mostly DAO versions, but I did have a few 6906's before. I have a 6946 now. Same thing, but DAO. I also had a few 5906's, but like you, I thought they were too heavy for a 9mm. I did like the full size grip, but not the weight. That's why I went with the 5943. See, the 6906/6946 is a mistake in S&W model numbers. It should be the 6903/6943, since it's SS with an aluminum frame. 6906/6946 denotes an all SS pistol, frame and slide. |
orange or Black I think have to go look yes I will sell Just looked They are ORANGE 1 15rd and 2 14rd all have Brand new springs WOLF I always replace the springs

Thanks for the info |
| Damn. Just when I post that I prefer aluminum framed lightweight S&W 9mm DAO's, I just left the gunshop and bought an old square trigger guard 5946! I can't resist S&W autos, or Glocks, Berettas, Sigs, Rugers, Colts. I'm in trouble. I want one of everything I see! |
FMJ I shot you an email. Thanks! |
AGREED |

Is this the Equipment Exchange or a discussion forum? I'll cancel my reply notification to this topic so I don't have to be alerted every time one of you sends e-mail to another about buying friggin' mags! "E-mail sent", "reply sent", Hell, just look in your Inbox and you'll see if an e-mail was sent, why do you need to post it here? |
GROW UP JERK |
I also own a SIG 40 P229 what model do you have |
I'm grown up enough to be able to read the rules of the sites I post on! Honestly, I couldn't care less if you do a deal here, but why keep bumping this post up to the top, just to tell someone you sent e-mail or replied to their e-mail. Do you really need to be told what that "thing" that says "subject" is in your inbox? "Jerk" huh? Are you going to tell your mommy on me now? |

Back to what this thread was about.............. I traded all of my 6906's and replaced them with a 6946 since I like the DAO better. The only thing I don't like about the 69xx guns is the grip. I prefer the straight back grip to the curved grip found on the 69xx and 59xx guns. It's simple with the full-size to just swap them out to the full-size 40xx straight grips, but I haven't found any options so far, factory or aftermarket, for the 69xx series. Anyone know of an aftermarket grip with a straight back to them for the compact 6906/6946? Hogue wood grips have a curve, just like the factory grips do. I guess I could get one of them and sand it down easily enough, but I'd prefer to find a plastic grip with a straight back. On the S&W Forum, someone took a 4006 grip, cut the bottom, drilled a new hole for the pin and epoxied the hammer spring pocket higher up, but I want to avoid that if possible. No matter how well you do it, it's still going to look like something you patched together. If I can find a grip that fits, I'll replace the grip on my 4013TSW, too. |
