[ARCHIVED THREAD] - SW 1911 +P?

I think +P ammunition will run safely in a SW 1911. Can anyone confirm this for me?

I wouldn't run a long steady diet of it w/o upping the recoil spring by a few pounds. The occasional mag or box here & there shouldn't hurt it.

I second uping the recoil spring before firing a box, but it will stand up just fine.
