I own a sigma now for a month and I think Im getting minor carpeltunnel because of the trigger. Is there anyway to lower the trigger pull. I know glocks have that 3 lbs pull sear, I mean if this is a glock clone, then why cant S&W lower the trigger pull to at least 5-6lbs pull? My hands get numb when shooting this pistol. Nice gun, but i hate the tigger pull because it is so hard, other than that, I love this pistol.

I lightened mine by using wolfe springs. Dry firing also helps from what I have heard.

I have 3000+ round through my 40VE and with 3000+ dry fires.  The gun will help you learn trigger control and sight picture because of the trigger is heaver than a normal TDA type gun.    I shoot all my other guns better because of it.

Mine is my SHTF gun because it is 100% reliable.

The Sigma may be a "Glock copy", but it doesn't function exactly the same as the Glock.  The Sigma design requires a heavier trigger pull to maintain its reliability.  When you lighten the trigger pull by replacing springs, it's hit or miss.  Some people report excellent results.  Others report light primer strikes.  Before I would trust an altered Sigma for anything but range use, I would definately test it with a minimum of 500 rounds to ensure the striker is still hitting the primers hard enough.

On the S&W Forum, there was a person of questionable intelligence who altered a Sigma's trigger pull by eliminating springs and was a self-proclaimed genius, much smarter than the engineers at S&W.  I spoke with one of my engineer friends at S&W and e-mailed him a link to the thread.  He just laughed and said that he successfully reverse engineered his Sigma back to the early designs, even pre-production, and the springs were installed to make the gun reliable.  Like he said, "We didn't add those springs just for the hell of it, we NEEDED them!"  He said he would have loved to get the Sigma's trigger down to five pounds or so, but the design he had to work with wouldn't allow it.

Basically, a Sigma is what it is.  It's a basic, ergonomic, extremely reliable, adequately accurate, affordable pistol.  If you want a light trigger pull, then I would recommend looking into a different handgun instead of altering your Sigma and possibly making it unreliable.

I lubed the spring and trigger pin, the pull feels a little bit lighter now, I wish I could smooth the trigger pin out with steel wool so it would be less griddy.

Some have completely disassembled and polished all contact surfaces and pins and were happy with the results.  It's not really lighter, but at least smoother.  Either that, or shoot around 3000 rounds and it will smooth out a lot.
