have a sw99 in 40 and  every time I shoot it,after a few round my trigger finger becomes sore. feels like century arms ak trigger slap.

Is this common to the design or am I doing something wrong??

I dunno.  I've had no such problem with mine.  I have two actually S&W in the .40 and Walther in 9, never experienced any slap from the trigger.

I have a SW99 - when I first got it, sometimes my trigger finger would be sore afterwards. From what I can tell, it's that sharp edged plastic seam that is on the face of the trigger. The middle seam on that trigger guard hump can also rub your finger if you have it too low on the trigger.

Now that I am used to the gun, however, I have no issues w/ it now. Guess your finger gets used to it.

I found on my SW99 that every time I tried to squeeze the trigger slowly (like off a bench for groups or instance) that my trigger finger would run against the magazine release.  The release lever sat a little above the trigger guard and that was what was rubbing my finger, not trigger slap at least in my case.  I cured the problem by removing the lever and filing down the edge to where my finger won't rub on it.

Not at the moment.  I'm TDY right now and my SW99 is still back home.  All I did though was to just lower the top edge a little and smooth it out a bit and that was enough to cure the problem.

I had a Walther P99 in .40. I had the same problem. I traced it down to my finger getting stuck between the hump in the guard and the trigger when it would come back foreward. I tradded it off to get into another gun. I kinda wish I had it back and just ground off the hump. Even then I think a 9mm in the same would be a much better choice for carry gun.

I also have a Walther P99 in OD Green 40 cal. I get the sore trigger finger as well from hitting the stupid pointy hump in the middle of the trigger guard. I have thought about filing it down but not sure what that would do to the value of the gun. So I just kept it as is. The new ones dont have that hump anymore.

I have it on my W99 - after a few trips to the range,U get used to it - it doesn't bother me anymore...

Hmm, I want to sell my SW 99 in .40 for the same reason.  The sore finger irritates the hell outta me!
